My role in this shoot was lighting for the scene. This was especially difficult considering half of it was shot under a bed with some in different locations attempting to look like the same place. Thankfully, our lighting workshop a few weeks prior prepared me for what to expect, making sure I used a key light, fill light, and backlight.
The background in the phone call on Bryan's end was probably the most challenging part of the shoot. We had to use black flags and other sheets to create a window-like shadow on the wall behind Bryan. The warm orange tones in the scene also had to be replicated meaning lots of orange gels were used in conjunction. Overall the lighting did work well to cast the shadows and have the homely feel we were looking for.
The hunt for prop vintage phones
In order to make our scene as accurate as possible we had to scout some 2000s-esque phones for both Bryan and Kim. I and Tomas started to wander around lots of charity and vintage collection shops in Edinburgh. After a few unsuccessful investigations, one woman advised us to ask a second-hand phone store not too far away. This is where we struck gold. Despite them not havering any working ones, we got to choose from a box of broken very old brick phones. Luckily we found a pink and flip replica for both.

Original Scene
We were overall very pleased, especially with the overwhelmingly positive reaction during the crit.
