April's script was decided on for this project as we found it was set up and flowed the best out of our group. The brief instructed that we must create a 2-minute, single-shot narrative that includes dialogue between characters. After our group discussion, we assigned everyone their roles and I chose Sound. The producer Jamie allowed us to film in his grandmother's living room where we found the perfect corner framing for, allowing the ceiling and objects to add depth.

It was also at this moment we realised the struggle of transporting equipment with public transport.

This shoot was my first time independently working with this equipment (boom and zoom). We ran into a few challenges which took both patience and resilience to overcome but it all worked out in the end. Firstly, due to wanting a blinds shadow cast on the back wall, I was unable to stand to the right of the frame where there was more space as my equipment would also get cast against the wall.

The left side wasn't any better as due to the high headroom, the boom needed to be closer to the camera rather than the actors resulting in the sound, especially from Abbie, being very quiet. In the end, I was positioned on the floor next to the rest of our crew, holding the boom on the left, covered by the table. This job proved to be more physically demanding than expected due to the awkward positioning and constant moving between the two actors for such a long time. Though the sound recording did go well to improve next time I would attempt to capture Abbie's dialogue louder without accidentally getting the boom in the shot.

We made sure our beer props were emptied out and replaced with water and the logos were not visible.

Whilst we are very proud of our final result, we feel like a toned-down performance from the older actor and an authentic news introduction which we originally had hoped to do, would improve the overall verisimilitude of our scene. Possibly a less dialogue-heavy scene would also work well.
