As the original AD was unable to make it to set on the last shoot day (Sunday 6th April), the director, Tomas, asked me to step in. Being my first day on set after everyone else was already familiar with the space and organisation made it slightly challenging to settle into their system, but I soon became versed in their workflow. I was blown away by how cinematic the shots looked and am eagerly anticipating seeing how the story unfolds. I quickly picked up that these cinematic shots were very costly in time as Tom (DoP) and Tomas were big perfections. As an AD, this can be stressful; however, quickly understanding that when their lighting and set up took extra time to be finalised at the start, it meant there was no need to change it after a few takes, working best for continuity.
Making sure I had any useful documents from storyboards to the call sheet printed was especially useful to quickly progress through the scenes. Overall, it was a great shoot day that, despite falling behind schedule, wrapped early and gave me more experience in approaching the unpredictability of time and schedules on set.

-The official final film has not yet been completed. The group plans to make some tweaks and release a longer version; the 7-minute limit was quite time-constraining when exploring the characters' heavy backstories.
